The Mogul Empire
By the late 1300s A.D. many Mongols had been converted to Islam. Tmur Lenk who was one of the greatest Mongol leaders of all time was in fact himself a Muslim.
In 1526 A.D. a Mongol leader by the name of Babur, who was a descendant of Timur Lenk invaded Northern India, and established an empire which was called the Mogul Empire. Mogul is the Persian name for the Mongols. This new empire would remain for more than 300 years.
